How do I implement alternate controllers? Accessibility i.e. eyegaze
Hello!
This is a question for down the road as I am new to game development. I began creating a game that I realized may be quite playable for the visually impaired. This got me on a trail of thought, and I began brainstorming accessibility features for game development. My sister has severe cerebral palsy. I hope to develop something that can be played with a device such as the Dynavox eyegaze board or an easy to learn accessibility controller that could be plugged into the computer (eyegaze or otherwise)
I found information for blind gaming, but other accessibility game development features are where I come up dry. Thank you for your thoughts and comments.
Edit: I have found Optikey that is opensource, similar to front runners of eye tracking. Please, though, any suggestions or developments are welcome! She is just learning how to use this technology, so even scripts that allow simple controls will be good for her as she learns!

Hi aasher2. I wrote OptiKey so drop me an email if you have any specific questions; optikeyfeedback@gmail.com
You could also get in touch with the excellent people at Special Effect, a UK based charity which works to get people with a range of disabilities playing games. They will almost certainly have the domain expertise you are after.
Cheers, Julius
This is awesome! Thank you so much, Julius. Not just for this response, but for creating such a beneficial program!
