following tutorial, and not getting the same results...
Hi,
So-- I have created a plane, a cube, and a point light.. I placed the cube on the plane, and dragged the point light up until the cube looked lit.. Then I go into 'game view', and I see a solid blue screen. Nothing at all in there..
In the tutorial I was just following, the game view shows the plane and the cube lit up... What am I doing wrong?
thanks. -patrick

I guess you either don't have a camera or the camera is not looking in the right direction...
Yes, I started a new scene and project which gave me a "main camera". Here is a screen shot of the scene which gives me a solid blue background when I do the game view:
It's hard to tell, but to me it look like your camera is just missing plane and cube. Try adjusting the camera so plane and cube are in the middle of the frustum.
I just don't get it. When I move around the scene (with zoom or the arrow keys), the camera moves with me. It's impossible for me to really tell what the camera is even aimed at because of this...
Shouldn't the camera be a fixed object like everything else?
I'm pretty sure this is not what happens. Anyhow to adjust the camera select "$$anonymous$$ainCamera" in your Hierarchy then in the scene view use the colored arrows to move the camera around, or use the rotate tool to rotate it. No offense, but please go through the basic official Unity Tutorials to get a grasp of how things work in the Editor (or any 3D environment...).

The subject of this post begins with "following tutorial"-- meaning that is what I am trying to do. As I said, I couldn't even get the scene to show up in the game view as it did in the tutorial. I followed exactly what the narrator was saying.
Here is a video of me demonstrating the complications I am having: http://collinatorstudios.com/www/unity.mov
