Installing Unity3d always freezes half way through
Hello
I am attempting to install Unity3d on Windows 7 but every time I run the installer it freezes halfway through when its up to extracting the engine. If I leave it for 30mins its still stuck at that same point.
I've attempted to install previous versions of Unity3d to overcome this but they all have this issue of freezing/taking ages when it gets to extracting the engine. I've tried UnitySetup-4.0.1.exe, UnitySetup-4.1.0.exe, UnitySetup-4.1.2.exe but it happens with all of them.
I've also tried uninstalling unity before installing but the same thing happens. I did not update for a long time so I had version 3.6 or something. So I decided to update and now this happens? How long does it usually take for you to install Unity3d? Note I only have 20GB space left on my hard drive could this be the cause? Unity3d's Installer should be able to detect and warn regarding this sort of thing though, the installers I code do.
Any advice on whats going wrong and how I can successfully install Unity3D?
tell the Unity Developers, they will probably ask for hardware and drivers etc.
you can email them at support@unity3d.com and you can go to https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity
also i have ~10GB(.PSD are huge files) of just assets so be sure to find room on your Computer. but Unity is only 2.08GB. so your space shouldn't be a problem for installing.
