Creating multiplayer mode in my mobile game - how to?

Hey, so I got my UWP game to work on my phone, save player data into Json file and whatnot but what is the approach to actually have a proper multiplayer mode with leaderboards and, let's say, Facebook integration, where players just login with their Facebook accounts?

I have got to say I looked up some Android development websites and I am completely green in that kind of staff. Synchronous, asynchronous, backend, layers, sockets - right now it kind of sounds like a dark magic to me.

One website that popped up as, I believe, useful in this regard was Gamesparks. Is that the thing that I am looking for and would buying it help me set-up that multiplayer mode? I am reading through it right now and it looks like the kind of thing that helps you create leaderboards, and multiplayer (like ghosts) in your game.
