Root motion - Animation type generic-humanoid
I have a character with generic animation type and it moves using rootmotion. When I turn it off, it goes back to position 0,0. I don't have this problem using characters with humanoid animation type. Is there any way to fix this without setting my character to humanoid? Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by fix this? It seems the humanoid character is not working correctly. If you turn off root motion and the humanoid rig does not return to 0.0 - that would make me think it is being driven by another source - and doesn't really have root motion to begin with.
The generic rig is working correctly, but lets break your problem down, Why do you need to turn off root motion?
Do you want to turn off root motion but still have the generic animation play at a certain location in the scene, without using root motion?

Yes, I need to turn off root motion occasionally and still have the generic animation playing at that location. This works when I use humanoid characters, but it doesn't with generic ones. Also, the animations move the character position.
