Is it possible to use Mecanim's animation retargeting with procedural animation?
I have a motion capture setup that is being used to drive a humanoid character (in real time), I'd like to retarget this motion to a different character that is using a different skeleton.
I was hoping to make use of Mecanim's animation retargeting features for this, but they seem to only work with authored animations (i.e. you need to use an AnimatorController, you can't have the Animator component driven by the Runtime Animator Controller).
Is this accurate? Am I barking up the wrong tree?
I also have a similar problem: I want to procedurally drive the animation of a known rig at runtime, with mocap data, and then apply that animation to different humanoid rigs using Unity's retargeting system.
And I also haven't found a Unity Humanoid Avatar based solution for this. So - I guess we have to write our own retargeting code.
