What is in a 360-degree video file?
Pardon a beginner's ignorance:
In a typical 360-degree video (e.g., Oculus, Samsung, YouTube360), when "stitching" several video files for getting a 360-degree result, to be viewed inside P*Q resolution... Which of the options below is the resultant file:
A P*Q resolution video, with specially-formatted instructions inside the file, for how to pan/move content?
A much bigger R*S resolution video, in standard format, such that the PLAYER has special means to pan/move a P*Q frame in it?
From my experience from making (rendered) 360 videos it's number 2. The PLAYER projects the video into 360 format. You render for example with blender an equirectangular video which the player then projects inside a sphere or cube.
