Perpendicular forward :-)

Hi all,

Right!, I'll re-phrase my question. I appreciate the patience from people answering, probably help if I asked the question better...

A cube. The collider can hit the cube on any of the 4 sides (ignore top and bottom). Irrespective of which side the player collides with I wish the cube's forward to be perpendicular to the collided face.

e.g. if the player hits the south side of the cube then the forward (assume cube is non rotated) would be directly 'north'. What I need to take into account is if the cube is rotated to any angle around the y (up) axis and the collision occurs on a cube face I wish the forward there (I guess it's really the face's normal?). I am probably over complicating something which is probably very easy.

I hope that better explains my issue.
