Everybody's needs as far as computer strength goes is going to be different, so all I can do is give personal experience. The machine I'm primarily working with is a couple year old mac mini, 2.53 Ghz dual core, 4 gig ram and whatever built in gpu that came with it. In short, a not very powerful machine. With that said, I've never had any problems with its ability and I too use blender (now 3ds), photoshop, unity, and its even used for professional audio editing. The only thing thats slower on it than my pc is rendering, but thats not a big deal. So by glancing at your specs, I would say you would probably be ok for small developments. Now if your doing professional quality animations and games, then I would say beef up your hardware. Sorry I can't give a definitive answer, as needs are different from person to person.
