Connecting Prefabs together to make one Prefab via script?
Hi there, So I want to build variations of new Prefabs, but not fixed as you would do in the Editor. In the editor you make them children, so you can call upon them via the parent name.
Is this possible? If yes, how would you do this, please?
Thanks,
Slarti
I dont understand, give some clear and simlpe example.
what this means "In the editor you make them children, so you can call upon them via the parent name." ?
and what you mean with "variations of new Prefabs". Be carefull when using words, for unity, a variation of a prefab is as it name sys a variation of a original prefab. For example You can have a Car as a prefab, and have diferent variations for each color.
ok, in the editor I can make nested prefabs and when you use them, they are fixed in the game. Of course, you can change the attributes to them, but what if I want to change that nested prefab.
ok, let's make a tree. The base is the trunk, then you put as a child some leaves and then as well a root prefab. Now I want to change the leaves to be needles. So changing out the leave prefab for a needle prefab inside the tree prefab. In the editor, I just change this, but in gameplay, I would like to do this via script. Is there any way?
Hope this makes it more clear.
