Auto switch to legacy shader

Hey everyone, a week new to unity and I am trying to come up with a script that auto switch the shader to Legacy Diffuse. I tried following the instructions online but cant get it to work.

Does anyone have a script like this I can take a look at or any help would be greatly appreciated.
