Try changing field of view when you are accelerating or travelling fast along with with radial or motion blur.
Hey, I tried what you said with the motion blur and it seemd to make the game very laggy and I didn't feel like the object was moving. A second problem is the the object alomost never accelerates.
$$anonymous$$otion and radial blur are usually used for a short periods of time, in order to enhance the speed effect. It really not recommended to have it applied constantly, since it becomes annoying. If you are looking for an effect that would be applied permanently, I'd suggest using specific particles that would indicate fast movement, maybe even do some object distortion or as I already said, try to play with field of view. $$anonymous$$aybe the best way would be to Google a bit about effects and tricks that make you feel super fast.
