Weapon system
Hello, I'm using the weapon system from the fps tutorial but I'm have worries about how it'll run on "lesser" machines by having all those objects infront of the character. I was wondering if it is possible to maybe do mesh? Like change the mesh to the weapon, or is there a better way?
The weapons aren't rendered when they're not selected, so it doesn't actually make a difference. $$anonymous$$odifying a single mesh at runtime is sure to cost more than just swapping between multiple meshes. Remember that weapons in front of the player are probably the least of your worries. Environment and terrain are the real big hitters.
There is no overhead to having those objects there if they are disabled.
