Android LogCat not writing out text in Debug.Log().
I want to use Debug.Log() to write out debug messages but instead of writing out the message itself it only writes out the stack trace of the Debug.Log method.
At this point I'm not sure what to do because I've tried it in command line, ADM and Eclpse and they all failed to write out the text I want. I have a Samsung Galasy S6, I'm not sure whether that matters or not.
As an example here is one:
12-12 20:39:24.621: E/Unity(26741): at Grid.WriteToFile () [0x000c5] in C:\Users\daniel\Documents\Unity\TicTacToe\Assets\Scripts\Grid\Grid.cs:84
12-12 20:39:24.621: E/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.DebugLog
12-12 20:39:24.621: E/Unity(26741): at Border.WriteBordersToFile () [0x00261] in C:\Users\daniel\Documents\Unity\TicTacToe\Assets\Border.cs:57
12-12 20:39:24.621: E/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.DebugLogHa
12-12 20:39:24.621: I/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.DebugLogHandler:Internal_Log(LogType, String, Object)
12-12 20:39:24.621: I/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.DebugLogHandler:LogFormat(LogType, Object, String, Object[])
12-12 20:39:24.621: I/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.Logger:LogFormat(LogType, String, Object[])
12-12 20:39:24.621: I/Unity(26741): UnityEngine.Debug:LogFormat(String, Object[])
12-12 20:39:24.621: I/Unity(26741): SaveLoadGame:OnApplicationPause(Boolean) (at C:\Users\daniel\Documents\Unity\TicTacToe\Assets\SaveLoadGame.cs:26)
Are you filtering out the messages somehow? Try running this from the command line: adb -d logcat -v time
Thank you! I've tried out what you suggested and it turned out that it indeed was filtered.
