Question by Bernard Graham · Sep 27, 2010 at 12:56 PM · licenseindiebuy

Old Indie License, new purchase.

Our team has 2 old indie licenses, back when they were 199$. Is there any kind of discount on new aquisitions, for owners of this kind of license? We are looking in too buy a couple of Unity Pro + iphone licenses.

When they first announced the price change (about a year ago) they offered exactly that kind of discount, but the offer expired on Jan 1, 2010.

Keep in mind that the Unity 3 preorder prices are set to expire any day now, so the price could increase any day now. Go to the online store, enter in one of your indie license codes and see what upgrade prices it comes up with.

You can also contact Sales and ask them if there's anything they can do, but again, keep in mind that as soon as Unity 3 ships the prices are going to go up. You'd best move quickly with whatever decision you make.

Getting very pointed remarks on Twitter from several people at Unity Tech; really looking like Unity 3 will ship today, 9/27.

Yep, they released it a couple hours after my last comment... But, they posted a message on their blog that they've just extended the pre order rebate for 24 more hours. Will expire tomorrow, Tue 9am Pacific Time (G$$anonymous$$T+8).

I think that the discounted license upgrade offer expired a while ago, but:

For acquiring new licenses, updates, whatever, use the web store, or contact sales@unity3d.com for more specific requests.
