Can I generate a Tile Palette made up of custom/scriptable Tiles as opposed to default Tiles?
Hi,
I have created a scriptable object called "AngleTile", it is simply an inheritor of the existing Tile class with one extra variable: "slopeAngle", a float signifying the angle of elevation of the tile's sprite. (For example: a tile displaying a 45 degree sloped hill sprite would have a slopeAngle of 45 degrees.)
I know how to generate tiles from a Tilemap sprite and have watched numerous videos/tutorials on generating tilemaps, scripted tiles, scriptable objects, etc., but I still do not know how I can let Unity know that I want to generate sprites onto "AngleTiles" on the palette and not regular "Tiles". It certainly seems to be something simple that I'm overlooking, but I haven't seen anybody mention or go through the process of switching from default tiles to custom tiles.
Can anyone help me here? I should mention I'm using Unity version 2018.1.6f1.
P.S. I have screenshots prepared to better illustrate what I'm asking, but this site won't upload them. "Error parsing the uploaded file."
If anyone can shed some light on this for me, it'd be much appreciated.
