Best way to do gun reload and move sway

hey i was just wondering what the best way for ME to do reload animation and sway animations

the current setup i have got is im calculating the recoil and where the gun is aiming then making the transform lerp to that position. on my full character(arms,legs,body all in one mesh) ive got animations playing for running strafing and sprinting and im using mecanim to handle the animations and IK to make the hand go the where i want them on the gun(like trigger or forgrip).

should i use mecanim IK thing to animate the reload? or should i just use "FPS arms" which are separate from the characters mesh? for the gun sway should i use an animation or make it in code? (when i say gun sway i mean when you move right your gun moves right. and when i sprint it goes down like in most games)

lastly how do i do this in Animator Controller????

any help: vids, suggestions would be great ~Scott

Design decisions are up to you. Both pre-defined and procedural animations work in this case, it's just up to you.
