How to equip items and show it real-time on the character with inventory.

Hey!

I'm a newbie game developer who is in need of help of the community. I am doing some game development with only YouTube and stack overflow to support me. This is the first time I've reached out to this forum with only one problem. As I've told you, I'm making a simple RPG game and I've come across the idea of inventory and equipping items from inventory. My problem is i can't seem to know how to get around on how to show what I've equipped in the game.

For example:

When i equipped a specific sword, Let's say it's a burning sword. I would like to change my character's sword to burning sword, Now i would like to change my sword to ice sword. So if i change my sword. The character's sword change too. From burning sword to ice sword.


PS:

I've made an inventory system and item equipping system where for now it's only giving the character the additional stats but no aesthetic value. I also have shop system where the items are coming from.

Pleaseee helpp me.
