Best practices for texturing terrain
Hi, I have just started my dive into creating beautiful Environments for my game. I am having a problem with my textures on my terrain looking really repetitive. The ones in the standard asset store and my own textures that I have shot don't seem realistic. I did however create a pretty decent rock terrain using a combination of high filters and off set tool in Photoshop, and creating a normal map. I cant seem however to reproduce the results. I guess my question is how would most game devs handle texturing terrain to make it look real?
