Android hover state lingering.
Hi
Has anyone experienced any odd effects with GUI button hover states?
They work fine in the editor and when published for browser, but when I publish to android, hover states can on occasion get stuck. I’ve experienced this now on 2 separate android devices; Samsung Galaxy S2 & HTC Wildfire so it doesn’t appear to be an issue with the hardware.
In particular I have developed a GUI system that animates GUI groups, enabling menus containing buttons and other elements to smoothly transition on and off screen. A problem I’m having though is that after one menu has animated off screen the last touch position appears to linger and affect any new button that replaces it. Activating its hover state when no touch is being made.
Touching anywhere else on the screen will remove this lingering hover state.
Also, when rolling into a button and releasing inside its hover state remains visible.
Is there any better way to achieve a reliable hover state?
Or perhaps some way to set a touch position without the user actually having to touch the screen?
Or disable all touch inputs?
I'm always commenting old questions, it seems. I do apologize for that. Nevertheless, this question is bothering me right now.
I’m at the end of a Project and I don’t want to update to Unity4.0 till I’m done with this Project, so I do not know if this issue has been solved in Unity4.0. As for 3.whatever I am, the lingering is still an issue.
I could program it my way and avoid it, but today I woke up on a why mode. So: - why? - Is there an easy escape?
Thank you
