Linear Lighting has LOD?>
I just enabled the Pro trial, and switched rendering from gamma space to linear space. Now everything outside the LOD is blown out and bright, it appears linear space only works within the LOD area near the player? No objects just terrain and a single point (or directional) dynamic lite. In gamma space the textures do not increase brightness outside the near LOD area. I am using linear mip-maps
further debugging I have traced it down to splat maps. If I have 100% grass or 100% dirt on the terrain the base map in the distance is fine. if I do 50% grass mixed with 50% dirt, then near LOD is more dirt, far LOD is more grass.
So I suspect splat map mixing is being done in gamma rather than linear space.
Please can anyone else confirm this?
