Draw calls on PC and Console?
I've been doing a bit of reading on draw calls, and apparently, draw calls are handled more efficiently on consoles than on PC. From what I read, this is because there are a variety of possible options for PC, and code has to be translated in real time for the specific hardware someone has (which takes processing power). Every console, however, has the same parts, so no translation is needed. That's what I gathered, I have no idea if it's right or wrong. Can someone better explain this to me in fairly simple terms, but so I have a good understanding of it?
Also, is there any way of getting around this, such as writing separate code for each possible drive/GPU that someone could have, so that a certain code could be used for certain hardware, and so draw calls wouldn't have to be encoded and decrypted in real time?
Thanks.
