Problem with Terrain Material (tangent geometry and terrain shader)
I am setting up a Terrain in 2018.2 right now and I put a custom Material on it.
The first strange thing that I notice is that Unity tells me that I "can't use materials with shaders which need tangent geometry on terrain" although the same material worked fine on a Terrain in version 2017.3
Unity advises me in the notification that I should "use shaders in Nature/Terrain instead". So I did this, I went into the Material Settings and chose the shader "Nature/Terrain/Diffuse". But still, Unity is telling me the same as before.
I already tried to change the shader to something completely different, to check if the change really is applied (and it is). I also created a completely new material only with a shader from Nature/Terrain und put that on the Terrain, but still: Unity is telling me that I can't use this shader.
How is it possible that Unity advises me to use a shader that does not work as intended? Is this a version issue? Or is there a setting on the Terrain itself that I am missing and that would handle the tangent geometry issue?
