[Brainstorming] how to recreate the alternate reality mechanic from Schein
Hello
I was thinking of making a 3D puzzle game with a similar style to Captain Todd, now I was brainstorming about puzzle concepts and one that popped up in my mind was the one of Schein. ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/321920/ )
they use lamps to show another reality / scene. I was wondering how they did it and if it's possible in a 3D enviroment.
I know how to do it with a full switch of the scene, but I can't figure out how to only switch the reality for like say a circular radius.
If anyone here knows or has some faint ideas, I would love to hear them.

This is actually very simple - you create your two worlds, and then you choose which to render based on a stencil test of a mask written by your circular "lens" object.
