First Person Camera with Third Person Character
I was wondering if there was a way to have a first person view, but with a third person character to get the arms and shadow. I tried putting a camera in front of the face and attaching a mouse look script, but this was weird and the camera rotation didn't turn the player. Is there any way to accomplish this?
You're essentially going about it the right way afaik. It just takes some fiddling to get it to look right with your particular model. Alternatively to the method you tried, you could try using the unity standard first person controller and adding the character model as a child. This will get the rotation working at least.
