Can I Create a Prefab in Unity 2018.3.5f1 With C# Script Using a YAML File?
I have been looking for a way to use a prefab for ground cover that I found on the internet. I tried downloading the file and implementing it, and got an error message that said something to the effect of "This was written with a higher-serialized version of Unity". I contacted the author, and he provided a link to the source code of the prefab. I am new to Unity, and to programming. I didn't recognize the language of the source code at first, and after much research, I determined that it was YAML. I guess YAML isn't supported by Unity, at least by default. I have downloaded the YamlDotNet plugin from the Asset Store, and have no clue how to use it. I have just been trying to create a basic prefab and haven't been able to do that either. I purchased "Prefab Maker" from the Asset Store, and don't know how to use it. I am just trying to use the prefab that I got off the internet. I put the source file into Notepad++ and saved it as a .yml file. Now, is there a way to import that into a C# script in Visual Studio 17 and use it to bring this prefab to life in Unity, and be able to actually use it in my game? I have exhausted myself trying to find step-by-step instructions on this for a beginner, or even code examples of the implementation with no luck. Please Help!!
