Addressable Auto Updating Prefab?
I've been tinkering around for a few days now, and have enough understanding to ask a question I believe. I have a test prefab in my scene named Player. It is in a custom group with
Use Asset Bundle Cache
disabled. Here is my process:
Build -> Default Build Script
Upload to S3: catalog hash & json, as well as the bundles exported to my ServerData directory
Make items in folder public
Export Android Build and install on device
Run -- Everything is normal. No Addressables errors, player looks correct
Update player (Adding a new child object and new material)
Add new material to custom group
Build -> Update Previous Build
Copy data to S3 again, making items public
Run -- Player is still the same, not updated
I have attempted to call directly to the server using
Addressables.LoadAssetAsync<>
. This is successful and I can spawn the 'new' version that lives on the server. What am I missing? The goal is to seamlessly have the player update itself with the new prefab.
