What does direction do for a physics.raycast besides direction? (read details)
When you use Debug.Drawray it's direction parameter also sets the ray's length (like writing Vector3.forward 10). Physics.raycast has a separate ray length setting, but what does multiplying it's direction vector do for physics.raycast? Why isn't it implemented the same way debug.drawray is? What does Vector3.forward 2 do for raycast for example if the length is already at 2.0?

Just because... RayCasting often uses the axes of an object, and that's unit-length.
