Making like 5k cubes, into one mesh?

I heard this is called chunking, I need it to make my game really smooth.

I am not doing terrain, and I refuse to use assets, sorry but I just don't like having giant things like this being imported in ;/

^If you refuse to use things that help, you have a long road ahead of you. That's like removing NVidia Physx from Unity so you can write your own physics engine, on a larger scale of course lol. If you want something to keep the same shape, just model it in Blender or $$anonymous$$aya, or w/e 3D modeling program you choose, or just use the Combine$$anonymous$$eshes Utitlity. If you want to combine blocks then do a destroyable environment similar to $$anonymous$$ecraft, you're going to want to go with voxels dude. Otherwise, you're going to need to write your own code that will recalculate normals and uvs every time you want to remove one "cube", and that's no fun.

a voxel engine is a large scale, all I want to do is make houses. but, I have a diff way. I wannause the combine method. but I heard there are sub meshes as well, and if you remove those it updates soa build system would work, that's what I wanna do. I can make the remove stuff, but ID$$anonymous$$ how to make them be added.

You may or may not wish to instead make a Mesh that you can modify rather than trying to combine a large number of Cubes, especially if all of these Cubes feature the same texture.

Unless you're trying to replicate Minecraft, I wouldn't see much of a need to use too many of these custom Meshes.
