footprints with depth in snow
Hi, Ive been looking around for the last couple of days at the best option for creating displaced footprints in snow, and thought someone here might have a suggestion/preference. I dont need deformable snow but want a sense of parallax and thought I could use projectors or decals that support normals, but havent found a material that does so. I also would mind having the footprint linger for a while before fading out which could require a lot of projections... maybe this is the wrong way to go about it. Any suggestions welcome Thanks

have a look at this tool https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/audio/free-footsteps-system-47967 or you can get something usefull out of this: https://github.com/thnewlands/unity-deformablesnow
Thanks! I had been looking at the second one, but apparently only works on flat surfaces. I also dont really need that level of depth/detail. I hadnt seen the first, but I think it might just be for audio. Will take another look when I get home. Cheers
might be tesselation something for you. get’s you fake depth to textures => footprints
might this helps you aswell going on https://www.polygon-treehouse.com/blog/2018/3/29/footprints-are-go
ha, yep. Been looking at that too ;) Still no normal projection tho. Will post something here if I find a solution. Thanks for your help.
