OS X builds crashing on launch before resolution dialog
I am having a problem with unity builds crashing on my El Captan development machine. The project plays fine in the editor, and appears to build fine, but if I launch the build, it crashes before reaching the resolution dialog.
This appears to happen with any project any scene. I tried creating a new project with the most basic scene. And the build still crashes.
This all started when I enabled debug mode on a build. My earlier builds under 5.6 worked fine. Unfortunately, unenabling debug mode did not fix the problem. I even tried upgrading to the Beta 2017 version and I am having the same problem.
The really weird thing is that builds that I created under 5.6 before I started having the crashing problem play fine on my machine... AND ...the new builds that crash on my machine play fine on another mac in our office!
Anyone have any suggestions? I am tearing my hair out.
Ever figure this out? I am having the same exact issues. Even old builds that used to open wont, because of the resolution selector. I am on $$anonymous$$ac.
In my crash report I see
"EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)" "Could not find image named 'ScreenSelector' unity"
I made a new build skipping the resolution dialogue and it worked. Thanks!
I only recently found a solution after working around this for months. Do you have multiple monitors? I have an i$$anonymous$$ac with an apple cinema display, and an HDTV plugged into it. For me the solution was unplugging the cinema display, then launching the build. It worked fine. It has continued to work fine after plugging the cinema display back in.
That worked! I have almost the exact setup and unplugging one of my displays did the trick!
Having the same problem using a previously working build which now crashes before the window dialogue using v2017.3.03
