Question by JohnMcDon321 · Aug 20, 2017 at 05:41 AM · 2dspritegridpixeloffset

Sprite object has unwanted offset to the grid

Note: I just created a new project with a single sprite and the offset is there too. It seems this is somehow caused by the program itself.

##EDIT##

Due to a question by a user

  • It is a spritesheet thus it's set to multiple, I made animations with the single images.

  • Setting "Extrude Edges" to 1 does not get rid of the offset.

  • The borders of the images in the Sprite Editor snap to pixels, so it's not caused by that either.

##EDIT##

My sprite object has a tiny offset to the grid which I can't explain to myself. Its values are:

Pixels per unit: 1 Position: 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 Pivot: Bottom Left

It should align with the grid but it has a tiny offset which seems to come from nowhere.

Here are 3 images of a spot which shows the offset and 1 image showing the import settings:

(Note: The rectangles are pixels)

I'm not sure but you talk about one sprite but use the multiple sprite mode. Further more you have extrude edges set to 1.
I would think changing either of those could work. With sprite mode multiple you need to be precise with setting the sprite border in the editor.

It is a spritesheet with multiple frames and I made animations with them. Changing extrude edges does not change the offset either. In the sprite editor the borders actually snap to the pixels of the image. I appreciate your help though!
