Question by Kek_Kek · Apr 22, 2018 at 03:27 PM · rigidbodymeshcollidermesh collider

CameraRig Rigidbody going through collider

I created a wall that the player is able to walk on and added mesh collider to the two pieces that make up the wall. I also added a rigid body and a Box Collider to the CameraRig. The problem is that the Player falls through the wall.

The RigidBody:

  • Mass: 1

  • Drag: 0

  • Angular Drag: 0.5

  • Use Gravity: Checked

  • Kinematic: Unchecked

  • Interpolate: None

  • Collision Detection: Discrete

The Mesh Colliders:

  • Convex: Checked

  • Trigger: Unchecked

Are both layers set to register collisions in the collision matrix? How is the Rigidbody moved?

The rigidbody is used to add a swinging affect for a grappling hook mechanic. The layers are also set to register the collisions

Found the problem. The box collider which was on the Rig had IsTrigger Checked On.

If I am understanding you correctly you probably need to look adding your collider to your player game object rather than the camera. Normally the camera will be parented to the player object or follow it using script, so if the player object is falling through so will the camera.
