Maya 2016 Import Timeout
Hello. I've installed Maya 2016 and the most recent version of Unity on a new PC, and now Unity isn't able to read any of my MA or MB files. Upgrading the version of the engine took hours because each model had to wait three minutes before timing out (after three minutes.) Upon trying to reimport an MB or MA file, the editor hangs for three minutes and then tells me that it wasn't able to convert the MB/MA file to FBX.
I'm at a total loss of what to do. It seems almost like Unity isn't able to find Maya or access it. I can successfully open all of the models in Maya itself, and I could manually export them as FBX, but given the number of models and their integration into the game, this would be an extremely onerous task.
Has anyone encountered this before? I'll provide any images or information you might require to help me fix this thing.
