How to properly import 3D object with textures from Photoshop
Hi guys, I created a text that I made 3D in photoshop (using 3D features), I added textures to this model in Photoshop.
When I export it as an Obj I can use the 3D mesh but I'm not able to get the textures whatsoever :/
How can I do that ? I'm not very familiar with 3D and shaders...
Perhaps Photohop's problem with its new features... Try using something else, Blender or in Unity directly.
I'm having nearly the identical problem. Hopefully someone will answer who knows what to do.

For whatever reason importing materials into unity is full unnecessary extra steps due to the poor implementation of shaders in Unity. Even if your using 3dmax/maya/photoshop, you still need to manually apply your textures to your object within Unity because of Unitys custom shaders (aka unity doesn't recognize the shaders/materials you used in other programs).
So use photoshop to create your texture, sit it properly on your UV map to make sure it lines up properly, then save, and apply the texture again once in Unity using one of Unity's shaders/materials.
It's stupid I know, but the Unity devs are happy with it or at least have no plans to change this terrible design.
