Why is Unity not dislpaying the editor?,Why isn't edit mode apearing?
I have just downloaded Unity and when I first opened it up, it looked like it was in play mode when it should be in edit mode. How can I change it to edit mode, what can be done to solve the issue?

Simply hit Ctrl+1 and your day is saved!
You must have accidentally closed out of the Scene window. Ctrl + 1 is the shortcut to reopen it. You'll have to drag the window to the bar that the "Game" and "Asset Store" are on to make it look how it did originally. The other way to solve this problem would be to click Window > General > Scene
