Strange animation problem on android
Hey guys, I found that when I animate an object with lights, the lights just disappear altogether. All I was trying to do was make the Parent gameobject, that had lights attached, spin in a 360 loop. Any help appreciated!
EDIT: Turns out if you try to rotate ANYTHING with animation it just turns off/you can't see it on android. This is a known bug on android and it is being discussed here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/unity-5-3-rotating-problem-on-animated-object-in-android.373065/
Have you tried the latest patch release 5.3.1p4? There was a lot of patched animation related going on.
No, I haven't! I'll see if they did fix it. I figured out that the problem only occurs when you have the light under 2 parents. If the second parent is animated then you can't see the light.
UPDATE: the patch didn't fix it, still looking for an answer.
EDIT: Turns out it's not because of its a child of anything, it's because the light is being rotated! When you try to rotate a spotlight it just turns off, even if it is a child of an object.
Check Edit>Project Settings>Quality>Android's quality level>Pixel Light Count This setting is often set to 1 for android performance sake.
Already checked that, but thanks. This is a common problem also
