How to make a smooth transition between two servers ? (UNET, NetworkManager)
Hello
How I can make a smooth transition between two servers while player is playing? Im making a small MMO (simple 2d, nothing special) and I want to realize a smooth transition between two servers. I use UNET, as network system.
I though I will make transition like so: 1. Player is playing on Server1, walking, and he see how other players are walking too 2. Player is connecting to the Server2, and after connection he is still on Server1 too. 3. Players from Server1 are hiding smooth (like opacity) and in that time players from Server2 are showing smoothly too.
But what a failure it was, when I found out, what I can't be connected to two servers simultaneously, even if ports are different ! The exception says, that only one instance of NetworkManager is allowed.
How should I deal with it ? What should I do ? Honestly saying I don't wanna to leave player without any connection to server (disconnect from Server1 and connect to Server2), because: 1.I have protection from speedhack and wall-walking. 2.I want to make this transition completely smooth and unvisible for player - he should play as he played, I don't want to disturb him from play.
Best regards, Robert
