Using a Canvas with a Render Texture
I have a prefab which is intended to mimic an interactive computer in my game. I want to apply some post-processing effects to the "computer screen" and I need it to have the shape and visual effects of a CRT. So to do this I have opted to go with a render texture.
I have the render texture working. But for the life of me I cant seem to get the stupid canvas to be rendered by that camera.
Of note, this computer console needs to be a placeable object in the game so each computer has their own canvas, camera, and render texture. I am creating the render textures in code, and the cameras and canvas are children of the prefab.
Any ideas on the setting configuration I'm missing. I have noticed that a lot of people seem to have been having this issue back between versions 5.0 and 5.4 of Unity but I haven't seen anything about it for recent versions, and all related issue tickets appear to have been resolved back about 6 months or more.
