Can I use 2d Tilemap in a 2D game that uses 3D camera?
I am working on a game that is a top down 2D shooter / strategy. It uses 2D physics but, to create suprising 3D elements that "stick out" from the 2D plane, camera is 3D and game is using Unity 3D mode. My gameplay is (2D top down) tile based, but the world is created from tiles that are half-square triangles (could use square tiles to represent all combinations) and they are getting smashed during the game, so I use collision detection. Can I use new 2d Tilemap workflow as a tool to create 2d parts of levels and then just add 3d elements?
