Mesh gets squashed after parenting to camera.
So I'm trying to make an FPS and it was going well until I came across this problem (in the title). It basically squashes down flat when I parent it to stuff. the gun is a prefab with meshes parented to it, I made the meshes in blender.

I feel like this would only happen if you set the parent with worldPositionStay as false, and the camera scale was tiny.
Can you show me how you are setting the parent, and show the transform of the camera?
the camera transform scale is not 1,1,1. the camera is one of the objects not affected by scale as it's viewport does not rely on it.
