Game view displaying more units that expected by resolution - what am I missing?
It appears I have misunderstood something about to how pixels are related to unit size in the Unity 2D Game view.
My understanding was that if I import a 32x32 sprite, with Pixels Per Unit set to 32, this means the sprite would occupy a 1 unit square in the world space.
Similarly, if my resolution is to set 1280x720, I would expect this to be equivalent to 40x22.5 units (at 32 pixels per unit). This means that if I set my Camera Size to be 22.5 I would expect the Game view to exactly display 1280x720 pixels.
So, if I then display my 32x32 sprite using a tiled SpriteRenderer with Width 40 and Height 22.5, I would expect the resulting image to stretch across the entire game view (1280x720). This is not what I am seeing.
What I see in this scenario is the SpriteRenderer occupying only quarter of the Game view. It appears that my Game view is actually 80x45 units in size, rather than 40x22.5.
Assuming my SpriteRenderer is rendering correctly (which it appears to be, since if I zoom in, each tile appears to occupy 1 unit), why is the Game view showing a much larger area? What am I missing?
These are my settings:
Any help much appreciated...
