Calling all Assetdatabase experts

The editor script I've been working on for some time has a peculiar problem. When I save a general item, it works just fine. When I try to save an item that has any other data it will not save it even though the field displays in the editor just fine. So weapon damage will not save, armor protection will not save. It doesn't seem to be a protection/access issue.

In the database script I have:

 List<ISObject> database = new List<ISObject>();
 
     public void Add(ISObject item)
     {
         database.Add(item);
         EditorUtility.SetDirty(this);
     }

ISObject has the general stuff in it and the other scripts inherit from ISObject. Anyone have any ideas?? Thanks!
