Compressing a texture imported with www class
Hey guys sorry this is the second time i've asked this question however my last one got no replies.
I'm importing some photos from a folder on my laptop to a photo gallery app I'm making. At the moment I have it looping through all the photos and importing them using the www class and displaying them on a grid. My issue is these photos are 5472x3648 pixels and all from 5-8mb in size. Due to this it takes a few seconds to import them (this is all during runtime) and so with alot of photos it takes about 20 minutes to populate the gallery. My ram also gets filled very fast.
I decided to resize the photos to 512x341 in photoshop and it worked extremely well. However i dont have time to do this with all my photos. I'm looking for a way to compress the photos before they are imported using javascript. I've tried texture.resize and texture.compress but neither can be done before importing the images.
any help is appreciated. thanks chris :)
