ARCore and cloud storage

Hello,

I want to develop an AR app for Android using ARCore or ARFoundation, can anyone tell me if a cloud based database/storage for reference images is available using either ARCore or ARFoundation. I know ARFoundation is made up of both ARCore and ARKit but there are some things that differ when comparing ARCore and ARFoundation.

I have seen documentations and videos about cloud anchors, but what I have understood about them is that they can only be used for multiplayer/multiple devices to interact with each other in real time. Can cloud anchors be used as a could based storage for the app?
