Unity connecting to a Bluetooth Bicycle speed sensor
Hello, I'm attempting to develop an application that takes in sensor data from a Bluetooth speed sensor for a bicycle and am wondering how to go about it.
The Unity manual shows nothing about connecting Bluetooth devices.
I've purchased a bicycle speed sensor that has ANT+ and Bluetooth support:
I've never worked with Bluetooth before and would like to know if there's a difference between interfacing with a Bluetooth 4.0 and a Bluetooth Low Energy device (are they different protocols?)

if you're doing professional work, save yourself some time and get one of these:
https://assetstore.unity.com/search?q=bluetooth&k=bluetooth or maybe this helps as it seems it's using a free asset:

and then there is this git repo, which you could disassemble:
https://github.com/giomurru/ble-framework
keep in mind those are for low energy bluetooth devices so there seems to be a difference
Hey thanks for the reply. The issue is, I don't know which one of these I need. A lot of them say they are for "iOS and Android". I'm building an application for Windows. The fact that it's lacking leads me to believe there's already some kind of support for doing it on Windows or that people are doing it manually/serially? Ideally, I'd like to operate at a higher level.
Hello, I hope to achieve the same function as you, how did you solve this problem in the end?Looking forward to receiving your answer.
