Using google speech to text in unity
Hey everyone,
I want to use google speech to text service inside unity.
As I understand it, unity 2018 now enables NET 4.x framework. As anyone successfully used google speech api from within unity using gRPC (Not REST)?
According to this thread from 2017 the two are still not compatible https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47591376/google-cloud-speech-streaming-in-the-unity-game-engine/47591485#47591485
cheers, Bar

Hi @bar_siemens
gRPC is now partially compatible with Unity. In fact, I've a working and published game using gRPC.
But, (and it's important), you should use NET Core (or the latest version available in your Unity installation) and only the version 0.16 of the GRPC Libraries for c# are fully funtional. (Standalone (Linux, OSX, Windows), ios and android.
You can get the libraries here: https://packages.grpc.io/archive/2018/08/92d1b5c433b69834b943107c76e6917556c4903f-66aa24f5-29dc-484d-b4dc-081fbef1afec/csharp/grpc_unity_package.1.15.0-dev.zip
Regards,
Dani
