Rotate a crank with the mouse
Hello,
I'm starting on Unity and I need some advice. In a project, our mouse should make circular movements in order to simulate a crank movement. At first, the goal would be simply to detect the direction of rotation with a Debug.Log (if clockwise we return 1 otherwise 0). I first had the idea to create a hinge join on a cylinder, but I can't catch it, so I can't compare its rotation direction. So I would like to know.

I found a small video, but it is for 2D I would like to know if there would be much to change, also knowing that I do not understand why one would need an object to hold this said crank.
If you have any clue to give me, I thank you !
