Revealing part of the map simulate lights turning on/off
Hi, i need to simulate lights turning on/off by using some graphic-performance-friendly approach (i guess some kind of masking or occlusion culling …) so that they will reveal the map which is normally submerged by shadows. one should be around the player and the others attached to specific game objects. The desired effect should be: the map will be revealed by moving around the player AND by hitting milestones in the level. I didn't find any valid tutorial on the web so far.
