Full body Inverse Kinematic
HI guys! I'm looking for a full body inverse kinematic plugin that I can use for testing purpose.
What I'm trying to do is allowing a character to do action like, for example, while standing still and talking with someone, dynamically grab an object from the ground, just setting the "grabbing points" and letting the position being calculated with an inverse kinematic algorithm.
I tried Dozer's inverse kinematic script and it's quite nice, but it works only on harms or similar stuff, but as I said, I need something that can allow me to drag the entire body.
Also, I took a look to Human IK and it seems to be what I need, but I'm still waiting to get the evaluation version. By the way, did someone already use it with Unity?
I'm also interested in Mecanim for Unity 4, it seems very good but I'm not sure it will allow me to do what I need.
I found very few informations about it and I'll be very glad to hear some comments from anyone that already used it :)
Thanks a lot!
If anyone has a script like that it's surely not going to be something they're just giving away for the asking. Are you really sure you need to do full body I$$anonymous$$? You would probably get better looking results by creating a crouching-and-picking-up animation by hand, or an assortment of different ones and using animation blending between them depending on what else the character is doing and where the picked up object is. The motion you'll get with full-body I$$anonymous$$ will not look like a natural human movement, it will look more like a flexible puppet being dragged around by one of its hands, because, well, that's what it is.
I'm sure it's possible though, you can do this in Poser.
First of all sorry for posting an answer ins$$anonymous$$d of a comment, my mistake :P
I'm aware of that and a price shouldn't be a problem. Anyway what you described is what I'm working on now, while waiting for the full body solution. I need a very realistic behavior and as scripted default crouch and pick position is not the best, that's why I'm looking for something more complete :)
look at some video about human ik to understand what I need ;)
@Fattie: What I want it's not something impossible. $$anonymous$$aybe I wasn't able to explain myself well (i guess it's pretty clear i'm not a native english speaker :P). I don't need that my character comes to life and knows how to move without scripting or animating anything. What I need is a way to adapt standard animations to different dynamics like "Grab the apple from the shelve" or "Grab the apple from the ground" or "Grab the apple on the table at your right". He will just need to adapt the "Grab" animation to the different positions moving the rest of the body accordingly and in the most natural way possible.
This is an example of Human I$$anonymous$$: http://download.autodesk.com/us/humanik/human_ik_intro_demo_video/human_ik_intro_demo_820x510.html
What i need to know if something similar to this exists and if anyone used HumanI$$anonymous$$ on Unity3D :)
